Centuries Headline High-Scoring Encounters on Day Three of Shriram Murti Memorial T20 Tournament

Bareilly – Run-fests and standout individual performances marked the third day of the Shriram Murti Memorial T20 Prize Money Cricket Tournament Season Six, as two thrilling matches were played at the SRMS Cricket Stadium, located within the Shri Ram Murti Memorial College of Engineering and Technology campus.

The fourth and fifth matches of the tournament witnessed an impressive display of batting, with centuries being scored in both games against 22 Yards Pilibhit, highlighting the dominance of opposing teams.

In the fourth match, Bajaj Textile Amroha took on 22 Yards Pilibhit in a floodlit encounter. After winning the toss, Pilibhit captain Rizwan Khan opted to field first. Bajaj Textile capitalized on the opportunity, posting a massive total of 254 runs in 20 overs—crossing the 250-mark for the first time in the tournament.

The innings was powered by a superb unbeaten century from Shoaib Siddiqui, who smashed 113 runs off just 62 balls, including five sixes and 15 fours. He was well supported by contributions from Shanu Saini (15), Rithik Arora (16), captain Nayan Gupta (48 off 19 balls), and Aman Nawab (18 off 6 balls), all of whom added quick runs to push the total to a daunting level.

In response, 22 Yards Pilibhit had reached 19 for 2 in 4.1 overs when sudden strong winds followed by heavy rain interrupted play. Persistent rainfall forced the umpires to call off the match, resulting in a draw, with both teams sharing one point each.

The fifth match, played on Sunday afternoon, featured SRMS Cricket Academy against 22 Yards Pilibhit. SRMS captain Adarsh Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first, a decision that proved decisive.

SRMS Cricket Academy posted a competitive total of 201 for 8 in 20 overs, thanks to a शानदार unbeaten knock by Vishvendra Chaudhary. The batter scored 123 runs off 67 deliveries, hitting five sixes and 16 boundaries in a commanding innings that anchored the team’s total.

Chasing 201, 22 Yards Pilibhit struggled against a disciplined bowling attack and were bowled out for just 94 runs in 15.2 overs. Despite efforts from VK Vivek (14), Rizwan Khan (27), and Arshi Khan (10), the batting lineup failed to build momentum.

SRMS bowlers delivered a clinical performance, with Devansh Murti playing a key role by claiming four wickets and dismantling the opposition’s batting order. The match concluded with SRMS Cricket Academy registering a comprehensive 107-run victory.

For his match-winning innings of 123 not out, Vishvendra Chaudhary was named Player of the Match and was presented the award by Sovan Mohanty.

The matches were attended by several dignitaries, including Aditya Murti, Secretary of the SRMS Trust and patron of the Bareilly Cricket Association, along with organizing committee secretary Dr. Nitin Saxena and other members, who encouraged the players and appreciated the high standard of competition.
